Sapphos Environmental, Inc., an environmental, planning, and resource management company located in Pasadena, California, is currently expanding its pool of temporary, non-exempt field technicians for several upcoming projects in southern and northern California. Field technicians will work under the direct supervision of a Sapphos Environmental, Inc. staff archaeologist. Positions will be filled on a project-by-project basis.
BA or equivalent in Archaeology, Anthropology, and or Paleontology, with at least 2 years of professional field experience. Applicants should have strong survey and excavation skills and be able to conduct basic lithic characterization and analysis, site and feature mapping, site and artifact photography, and basic GIS data collection. Preference will be given to applicants with a working knowledge of California and Great Basin history and prehistory. Paleontological monitoring experience is desirable.
